It’s taken a long time, but finally, books are out of the loft and up on the new bookshelves. Reading chair also very comfy.
It makes me very happy to have these bookshelves. I now need to start organising my bookshelves into an actual system.
I am thinking that I will bite the bullet and go alphabetical. Currently, the books are organised by a random sort of grouping.
For instance, I have many American writers together: Norman Mailer, John Updike, Bret Easton, Ellis, Tama Janowitz, Jay McInerney, etc.
The same is true for various British writers, from the classics of Charles Dickens and Jane Austen to George Orwell and Martin Amis.
It is, at best, a bit random, and the only thing stopping me is the knowledge that I will have to take all of the books down and start again!
